How can I apply for a support role in a school?

There are many support roles within a school that either support teaching and learning directly or the organisation of the school more widely, with the names of roles and their job descriptions varying between schools.

If you dont have recent experience of working in a school, you could start by arranging a visit to a local school or offering to work as a volunteer to get the chance to decide which role interests you most.

It may be that the knowledge and skills youve gained in your current or previous roles may be relevant to particular roles within the school workforce.

Jobs tend to be advertised locally, and schools themselves or local councils manage the recruitment and training of staff: to contact your local council, click here.
